The first hole is cool because you tee off near the pro shop (up above the fairway 50 feet or so) and hitting across a street. So like I said it's not exactly pristine conditioning. There were random water pumps in the middle of one fairway. The greens (with the dew) were running at about a 4 on the stimp. Took us about two hours to play nine but that was only because my son was struggling to make contact with the ball )Īs far as the course, it was in rough shape.
Other than the extreme amount of dew in the morning, it was a pleasant walk. We chose to walk the course and didn't regret it. Don't "map" the golf course to find the pro shop though. In retrospect though, it wasn't a difficult or long walk up to the course. We would've taken a taxi had we seen one.
Mostly because we didn't see any taxis available. When we got off the tinder boat, we actually just walked up to the golf course. As it worked out, I could actually bring clubs for my 11 year old son and I so I didn't rent clubs. Mike was very accommodating on the prices for both the golf and the rentals. I called ahead and booked a tee time through the golf shop.
For what it is, it was a really great time. However, it's not trying to be that course, either. This course is not in those conversations. I am a golf professional and have had the luxury of working at and playing some of the best golf courses this world has to offer.
